Self-reflective practice is linked to increased empathy, engagement, improved awareness of biases, and better communication.  This session explores various aspects of critical reflection and its impact on the provider.  It provides practical techniques for implementing critical-reflection into your practice.

Upon completion of this presentation, the participant will be able to:

  1. Define clinical decision making and identify cognitive processes related to challenges in the decision making process. 
  2. Discuss dual processing and how it relates to clinical decision making and cognitive failure.
  3. Discuss verbal and written critical reflection and its use in improving clinical decision making.
