Behavioral Couples Therapy for Alcohol/Drug dependence is an evidenced based practice developed by O'Farrell.  This study will discuss the 12 week program and how it is being utilized in the Veterans Administration/Leadership setting with veterans and their families.

Session Objectives
Upon completion of this presentation, the participant will be able to:

  1. Define the population Behavioral Couples Therapy (BCT) for Substance Use Disorders (SUD) is appropriate for and the interventions in a typical Course of BCT-SUD.
  2. Outline the research basis for the practice and dissemination of BCT-SUD as an evidenced based practice in the Veterans Administration/Leadership.
  3. Discuss resources for further study and practice of BCT-SUD.
