4031-18: “You really want me to think positively when I’m in pain?! All I can do is feel hopeless and sad!” Using Group Therapy to Instill Hope and Positivity in those Living with Chronic Pain and Depression

This presentation highlights the use of group therapy for individuals suffering with chronic pain and depression. Highlighting hope and positive psychological traits encourages participants to have more positive emotional experiences. Psychiatric nurses are capable of providing group therapy, which helps these individuals develop protective factors against negativity from chronic pain.
