3103-21: The Effect of a Behavioral Emergency Response Team on Chemical and Physical Restraint Use in Hospitalized Psychiatric Patients: An Evidence-Based Practice Project

This presentation introduces Behavioral Emergency Response Teams (BERT) as a more dignified and patient-centered alternative to physical and chemical restraints. Using the Johns Hopkins Nursing Evidence-Based Practice Model as a guide, BERTs can be implemented to benefit both patients and nurses in the event of a behavioral crisis.
