3037-17: Military and VHA Panel: Navy, Air Force, Army, and VHA Collaboration and Behavioral Health Nursing Updates

This session explores the challenges inherent in identifying and treating Service Members for behavioral health conditions and how the Navy, Air Force and Army are working together to standardize BH nursing processes across the Military Health System. Each service will additionally provide updates in behavioral health nursing from their particular service.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this presentation, the participant will be able to:

  1. Articulate challenges inherent in identifying and treating active and retired service members and the need to standardize BH practices.
  2. Review the initiatives to standardize behavioral health care across the Military Health System.
  3. Discuss the current state of behavioral health nursing in the Navy, Air Force and Army respectively along with current initiatives and behavioral health nursing role in the behavioral health system of care throughout the services.
