303-25: Keynote: Substance Use and the Brain

Explore brain development from childhood to adulthood, with emphasis on the neuroscience of addiction and substance use. Learn about the “recovering brain” and restoration of dopamine pathways when harmful substances are reduced. Note on Terminology: In this presentation, the terms addiction and substance use will be used interchangeably to reflect the continuum of use—while acknowledging the complex neurobiological and psychosocial factors involved.
