Addressing Employee Engagement in Health Care: Strategies to Improve the Experience of Providing Care
This session explores leadership strategies to transform the experience of those who provide care in behavioral health settings. It describes the implementation and outcomes of quarterly staff survey Administration/Leadership with customized action plans.

Inspired to Get Certified: Validation of Expertise for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurses
A formalized plan to increase certification levels, congruent with the Structural Empowerment standards required for Magnet designation will be presented inclusive of metrics demonstrating program impact and doubling of certified nurse numbers.

Session Objectives
Upon completion of this presentation, the participant will be able to:
1. Explain the importance implementing measures to address staff concerns in a timely manner.
2. Define strategies presented that can be duplicated to improve employee engagement in behavioral health units.
3. Explain an organizational strategy and formalized plan to facilitate the achievement of increased specialty nursing certification in a behavioral health care setting.
4. Identify ways in which certification facilitates higher standards for nursing care excellence in practice and better patient outcomes.
