3000-23: KEYNOTE: The Care You Give

Dr. Barber will share her journey of becoming the first soldier to win the title of Miss USA and how during her reign, her mother’s passing left her in a deep depression. In addition to describing how changing her mindset turned life’s hurdles into steppingstones, she will highlight the contributions of healthcare providers to people in their most vulnerable moments. Dr. Barber will discuss strategies and tips she uses as the Vice-Chair of Service Women's Action Network, a non-profit dedicated to preventing military sexual assault and the hurdles she faces when assisting victims experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder. Her compelling story about life and loss will leave you feeling empowered, inspired, and strengthened.
