2054-18: Exploring the Thinking, Reasoning and Clinical Approach of Expert, Advanced Practice Child Psychiatric Nurses

Presenters:  Kathleen R. Delaney, PhD, PMH-NP, RN; Diana McIntosh, PhD, APRN, PMHCNS-BC

3013-18: Simulation Training to Improve Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Resident Adherence to Veteran Affairs/Department of Defense Clinical Practice Guidelines for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
This presentation introduces simulation-based training as strategy to improve mental health nurse practitioner adherence to clinical practice guidelines. Simulation training decreases known barriers to clinician guideline adherence: lack of provider awareness, provider time constraints, provider skepticism about the evidence used to support guidelines, and organizational systems change resistance.
Presenter:  Charleen Angell, DNP, APRN, PMHCNS-BC
