2043-22: Addressing Bias and Stigma in the Language We Use with Persons with Opioid Use Disorder
This presentation will describe difficulties with access to care of opioid use disorders (OUDs), the stigmatizing languages that presents barriers to effective care, and suggest alternative language to be used in persons with OUDs. We will also propose next steps to address this barrier in our clinical and educational institutions.

- Identify how language impacts treatment of those with OUD and gain knowledge of the appropriate language to use with persons with OUD.
