2026-22: A PMHNP-Led Hospital-Based Team Supporting Law Enforcement to Reduce Involuntary Transfers to Emergency Departments 

Use of early PMHNP expert consultation reduced the incidence of law enforcement triggered emergency psychiatric evaluation by as much as 25% in favor of increasing utilization of community resources. This in turn reduced emergency department overcrowding and potentially triggering individuals with trauma history by using the least restrictive interventions available.
