2024-16: Building and Sustaining Resilience for Nurse Leaders in Mental Health Nursing

This presentation will focus on the importance of resiliency in our workforce. Nurse leaders will learn how to ensure resiliency in themselves and create a culture that’s conducive for staff to care for mental health populations long term.

Upon completion of this presentation, the participant will be able to:

1. Define resilience in nursing and relate its implications to nursing management and leadership.
2. Identify strategies to improve resilience as a nurse leader and demonstrate how these tools can be implemented with staff to prevent burnout.
3. Summarize how retention and growth of the psychiatric mental health nursing workforce can be obtained by becoming a more resilient nurse leader.
