2016-16:  Cyberbullying – The Dark Side of the Internet

The use of mobile devices has placed unprecedented access of technology in the hands of adolescents leading to the inception of cyberbullying.  This session looks at the factors that place adolescents at risk to become victims of bullying and to become bullies.  Specific evidence-based interventions will be discussed.

1. Identify patients that may be at risk for cyberbullying along with developmental issues that may be impacted.
2. Enumerate ways that PMHN and PMH-APRNs can combat cyberbullying.
3. Discuss current evidence-based plans to reduce bullying.
