Pharmacogenomics is the most selective and efficacious treatment approach for psychiatric disorders. The era of adverse drug reactions, treatment non-compliance, and stigmatization of the mentally ill because of the visible and irreversible side effects of psychotropic medication could eventually fade as PGx adoption accelerates in clinical practice.
