This presentation will discuss the implementation of a dementia simulation in a university setting across multiple campuses. The presenter will also discuss research related to the impact of the simulation on empathy. Additionally, ways to utilize the simulation for staff development and community education will be discussed.

Can You Help Me? A Refugee Simulation Experience
Barriers to the provision of quality psychiatric-mental health care to refugees in the community are often related to a deficiency in cultural competence. Education with simulation provides nursing students an opportunity to gain awareness of the knowledge and skills needed to effectively manage refugees.
