The presence of polypharmacy is common practice in many psychiatric settings.The presence of polypharmacy has the potential for many drug to drug interactions and noncompliance, both of which can have unfavorable outcomes for the client. Those clients are at an increased risk of serious adverse effects from polypharmacy, including death.
