This session provides a review the 2015 ASAM National Practice Guidelines for the use of medications in the treatment of opioid use disorder.  A review of the DSM-V criteria for a substance use disorder, levels of care for treatment, and the process of making appropriate referrals when necessary is discussed.

2.  Discuss the ASAM Practice Guidelines for opioid treatment.
3.  Identify appropriate methods of evaluation to determine the effectiveness of the intervention.
