1042-16:  Teaching Psychotherapy in Graduate PMHNP Program Part II: An In-Depth Workshop for Faculty (The 5 W's of the 4th P: Who, What, When, Where, Why of Teaching Psychotherapy in Graduate Schools)

Psychotherapy, a foundation of advanced practice psychiatric nursing is ‘our fourth P.’ This in-depth, interactive workshop will feature a panel of expert graduate faculty in PMHNP programs discussing how they incorporate psychotherapy content and creatively leverage community psychiatric resources to provide quality clinical experiences for their graduate psychiatric nursing students.

Session Outcomes
Upon completion of this presentation, the participant will be able to:

  1. Debate the basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed by the PMHNP to provide psychotherapy.
  2. Discuss various face to face, hybrid, and online individual, group and family psychotherapy learning and training opportunities that can be employed in PMHNP programs.
  3. Facilitate a forum where individual, family and group psychotherapy PMHNP learning opportunities and resources can be shared.

Continuing Nursing Education
1.25 contact hours.  * In order to receive contact hours, you must: Listen to presentation, complete an evaluation, and earn a passing score on the post-test before the expiration date. You will have 5 tries to correctly answer the questions on the post-test and a score of 80% is required to pass. Once you have passed and completed an evaluation, the certificate will be generated online, available for you to print immediately. You cannot earn credit unless all steps are completed.
