Session Objectives:
Upon completion of this presentation, the participant will be able to:

  1. Relate the prevalence, physiology, manifestation, and diagnosis of depressive disorder to the elderly population.
  2. Discuss research related to treatment of psychiatric disorders in an elderly population.
  3. Examine practical treatment applications for “late life mood disorders”.
  4. Explore etiology and symptoms of dementias, their differences, and best choices for treatment of cognitive disorders in the elderly.
