1003-16: Psychopharmacologic Advances in Eating Disorders

This session presents an up to date review on the use of psychopharmacology in the treatment of eating disorders.  Learn about underlying neurobiological influences of eating behavior and the associated signs and symptoms of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. This session will address DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, provide a brief clinical overview of the disorders, and review in detail the placebo-controlled clinical trials to date in these populations.

2. Discuss clinical pharmacologic trials to date for anorexia nervosa, bulimia, nervosa, & binge eating disorder.
3. Evaluate clinical trial research findings to date & implications for clinical practice for the treatment of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, & binge eating disorder.
